Points of Unity

Unconditional giving in the spirit of mutual aid, with respect for autonomy.

  • Understanding the need for new social relationships that build health, economic security and autonomy for all. The need for change will not end with the pandemic.
  • We are complementary to autonomous groups, but strive to work together to increase overall available resources.
  • To create programs to help us survive under oppressive conditions and ultimately challenge those systems of oppression.

Zapatismo

  • Acknowledgement that the land we are currently on is the unceded territories of the Amah Mutsun and Muwekma Ohlone, among others, and a recognition of indigenous sovereignty and of their connections to the land which continue to this day.
  • Power and unity in inclusivity and diversity.
  • Direction and authority come from those more oppressed, with less power or further marginalized. Following the will of the community.

Survivor-focused justice in cases of abuse within the organization.

  • Centering on the needs of survivors when it comes to questions of these issues being adequately addressed, as well as addressing the dynamics within our own organizations which enable abuse.
